Christophe writes from Milot to Gérin accepting the title of head of government

Haitian

In January 1803, the commander in chief, marching from the Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite against Dondon, which had risen against his authority under Petit Noël Prière after the assassination of Sans-Souci at Grand pré, had his right column pass through Milot and the carrefour Ménard. On 23 October 1806, Christophe wrote from Milot to General Gérin, minister of war, to accept the title of head of the government, after the affair of the Pont-Rouge.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MILOT OU SANS SOUCI.
