Christophe lures Capois into an ambush in the ditches of Limonade

On 19 October 1806 Christophe summoned Capois from Fort Liberté to the Cap and made him fall into an ambush in the ditches of Limonade. Thus perished the hero of Vertières, whose bravery excited the admiration of Rochambeau and of the French troops in 1803.
