Christophe marching on Port-au-Prince is forced back from the Boucan Brou bridge

Haitian

On 1 January 1807 Christophe, marching against Port-au-Prince, halted at the bridge of the Saline and sighted the habitation Sibert. When the first musket shot was fired, Christophe launched against the republicans the 4th and the 7th, and two battalions of the 20th half-brigade; but he was obliged to abandon the bridge of Boucan Brou. See: Sibert.

Rouzier tells this under the entry BOUCAN BROU [le].
