Captain Daniel enters Fort Bizoton and is shot by Monbrun
Haitian
Captain Daniel, at the head of 60 grenadiers, marched with the bayonet against the fort, whose gates were opened to him by traitors. Monbrun, seeing a company enter the enclosure, believed that the republicans were seeking shelter from the downpour. Captain Daniel approached him and said to him in French: “You are my prisoner!” “Not yet,” replied Monbrun, and he knocked him down with a bullet to the head.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Bizoton.
