Boisrond Canal and companions escape through the Bois-de-Chêne stream to Turgeau

Haitian

PONT MORIN (le). Small bridge built over the stream le Bois-de-Chêne (See that word) on the road that links Lalue to Turgeau, commune of Port-au-Prince. Fine country houses. Chapelle Saint-Louis, built by Mr. Louis Horelle, a French merchant, who gave it his name. This place became famous after General Boisrond Canal, Canal the younger, his brother, and Calice Carrié, pursued and attacked by the government of Domingue on the habitation Frère, came out here by the stream le Bois-de-Chêne, to reach the house of the American consul, Mr. Basset, at Turgeau, on 3 May 1875, after the murder of Pierre Momplaisir Pierre and of Brice.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PONT MORIN (le).
