Bergerac Trichet leaves the Artibonite for Port-au-Prince via Neiba

Haitian

On 1 January 1809 Bergerac Trichet took the fort of the Sourde from the troops of Christophe, and threatened the Grande Rivière du Nord and the Cap. Faced with superior forces of Christophe, Bergerac Trichet evacuated the position on 5 January, and entrenched himself on the banks of the Artibonite, which he in turn evacuated on 3 April to return to Port-au-Prince by way of Neibe.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SOURDE (la).
