Battalion of the 17th regiment rises for Pétion and seizes the Cayes arsenal
Haitian
On 27 June 1811, the 1st battalion of the 17th regiment, quartered at the Fond Bleu, rose in favour of Pétion, passed the batteries of the Cayes and seized the arsenal. Borgella with Moulite Tuffet and Péroux arrived from Aquin the next day, drove back the insurgents and restored order. This event cost the lives of a great many brave men.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Fond Bleu (le).
