Attempt on Rigaud’s life at Les Cayes

The State owns lands there on the habitation Rossignol. Rural school. There is also the habitation Perrier. In 1811 a battalion of the 17th, commanded by Lafredinière, mutinied there against Rigaud. It went to the Cayes and made an attempt on the life of the chief of the secession on 28 June.

Rouzier tells this under the entry HAUT FOND BLEU (le).
