Armed gangs massacre residents of La Saline over several hours

La Saline is a poor quarter of Port-au-Prince with a long habit of protest. In the autumn of 2018 it was part of the mobilization against the cost of living and against the PetroCaribe corruption. On 13 November 2018 armed men went in and killed for hours. Investigators counted at least 71 dead; Haiti-Reference records 73 killed and eleven women raped. The police had been warned and did not come. Years later nobody has been convicted.
