Alix Pasquet was born on 14 November 1919. He was one of only five Haitians to become Tuskegee Airmen, selected in 1942 under Élie Lescot’s aviation programme and graduating in August 1943 with class 43G. At home he was also a well-known footballer. Exiled in 1957 for backing Louis Déjoie, he was killed on 29 July 1958 leading a raid on the Casernes Dessalines.
