Abbé Guillard, parish priest of Saint Joseph, dies

Haitian

The abbé Guillard, parish priest of the parish of St. Joseph, died on 15 October 1888; the commune of Port-au-Prince, grateful for the services rendered to the country by this virtuous priest, awarded him, the day after the official funeral. The abbé Guillard holds an eminent rank among the founders of the church and parish of Saint Joseph. He contributed to the purification of morals in this quartier, lately given over entirely to itself. His body was buried the next day, Sunday, to the right of the altar of the Virgin.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAINT JOSEPH.
