A law founds Pétion-Ville on the flank of the mountain

On 23 September 1831 a law founded Pétion-Ville, on the slope of the mountains of La Coupe above Port-au-Prince, under the presidency of Jean-Pierre Boyer. It was dedicated to Alexandre Pétion. There was a plan to move the capital there. It was never carried out.
