1825: Insurrection aboard the Deux Soeurs, bound for Freetown (voyage 2824)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Freetown in 1825, the people aboard the Deux Soeurs rose against the crew. They had been taken at Rio Pongo.

The record gives the numbers as: 150 people were embarked; 132 were landed; 18 died on the crossing.

Captain: Mornet, Henri. Flag: France. Recorded outcome, in the database’s words: “vice-Admiralty Court, Sierra Leone, condemned.”
