1794: Insurrection aboard the Ascension, bound for Havana (voyage 36590)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Havana in 1794, the people aboard the Ascension rose against the crew. They had been taken at Mozambique.

The record gives the numbers as: 221 people were embarked; 197 were landed; 24 died on the crossing.
