1788: Insurrection aboard the Breton, bound for Saint-Marc (voyage 32997)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Saint-Marc in 1788, the people aboard the Breton rose against the crew. They had been taken at Ibo.

The record gives the numbers as: 820 people were embarked; 630 were landed; 190 died on the crossing.

Captain: Guesdon. Flag: France. Recorded outcome, in the database’s words: “voyage completed as intended.”
