1767-May (Scheduled): M. d’Augy, an attorney at the Council in Saint-Domingue, announced his mandatory departure for France in May 1767 due to failing health. He urged all clients with active legal matters or pending judgments to retrieve their personal papers from his office immediately. The loss of experienced legal professionals was a recurring challenge for the colony, as the harsh environment often forced European-born experts to return to the metropole. His exit necessitated a rapid reorganization of legal affairs for many local residents before the onset of the summer season.
