De l'instruction préparatoire

Criminal Procedure
Titre II: De la procédure criminelle (On Criminal Procedure)
Chapitre II: De l'instruction préparatoire (On the Preliminary Investigation)

Toute personne qui se croira lésée par un crime ou délit, pourra en rendre plainte devant le lieutenant de juge ou la sénéchaussée, et se constituer partie civile.

Life lesson: Anyone who considers themselves a victim of a crime can file a complaint and become a civil party to the case — either at the parish level or directly at the seneschal court.
Notes: Private prosecution right: any lésée person may file plainte + constitute partie civile. Dual filing venues: lieutenant de juge (parish) or sénéchaussée. Partie civile status enables private party participation in criminal proceedings. Foundation of victim's rights in Henrician procedure.
