Des Enquêtes

Civil Procedure
Titre II: Des Sénéchaussées (On the Seneschal Courts)
Chapitre XI: Des Enquêtes (On Inquiries)

Life lesson: If the law allows it, the court can order proof — and judges can even do so on their own initiative when the facts look decisive.
Notes: Judicial discretion: proof of denied facts orderable unless legally prohibited. Judges may act d'office for faits concluans. Broad judicial truth-seeking authority.
