Chapitre IV: De l'Extinction des Obligations (On the Extinction of Obligations)

Jusqu'au moment de l'acceptation de la consignation par le créancier, le débiteur peut retirer la chose déposée ; s'il le fait, ses codébiteurs ou cautions ne seront point libérés.

Life lesson: Take back your deposit before the creditor accepts it, and your co-debtors and guarantors remain on the hook.
Notes: Withdrawal before acceptance: co-debtors/sureties not discharged. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 1261.
