Titre XVII: Des Contrats ou Obligations conventionnelles en général (On Contracts or Conventional Obligations in General)

Si l'une des parties procure à l'autre un avantage purement gratuit, ce contrat est de bienfaisance.

Life lesson: A gift with no strings — one gives, the other receives. This is a contract of beneficence.
Notes: Contract of beneficence (gratuitous): one party procures purely gratuitous advantage to the other. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 1105.
