Des Dispositions testamentaires

Succession Law
Titre XVI: Des Donations entre-vifs et des Testamens (On Inter Vivos Donations and Testaments)
Chapitre IV: Des Dispositions testamentaires (On Testamentary Dispositions)

Les légataires, à quelque titre qu'ils soient, leurs parens ou alliés jusqu'au quatrième degré inclusivement, et les clercs des notaires qui recevront un testament, ne pourront servir de témoins dans l'acte.

Life lesson: No legatee, no close relative of a legatee, and no notary's clerk may witness the will — conflict of interest disqualifies them all.
Notes: Witness disqualification: legatees (any title), their relatives/in-laws ≤ 4th degree, notarial clerks. Anti-conflict-of-interest. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 975.
