Des Actes de Mariage

Marriage Law

Life lesson: The vow is spoken twice — once by each. And then the law speaks a third time, binding what two hearts have declared.
Notes: The civil marriage ceremony: sequential declarations by each party, followed by the judge's legal pronouncement 'in the name of the law' (not in the name of God). A fully secular civil marriage proceeding, distinct from any religious ceremony.
