Des Meubles

Property Law
Titre XI: De la Distinction et de la Nature des Biens (On the Distinction and Nature of Property)
Chapitre II: Des Meubles (On Movable Property)

L'expression de biens meubles, celle de mobilier ou d'effets mobiliers, comprennent généralement tout ce qui est censé meuble, d'après les règles ci-dessus établies.

Life lesson: When the law speaks of 'movable property,' 'personal estate,' or 'movable effects,' it means everything the foregoing rules define as movable — the broadest possible scope.
Notes: Interpretive rule: 'biens meubles,' 'mobilier,' and 'effets mobiliers' are the broadest terms — they encompass all movable property as defined in the preceding articles. Contrast with narrower 'meubles' (Art. 268) and 'meubles meublans' (Art. 269).
