Des Immeubles

Property Law
Titre XI: De la Distinction et de la Nature des Biens (On the Distinction and Nature of Property)
Chapitre I: Des Immeubles (On Immovable Property)

Les biens sont immeubles ou par leur nature, ou par leur destination, ou par l'objet auquel ils s'appliquent.

Life lesson: Immovable property has three roots: what it is by nature, what it serves by purpose, and what legal right it attaches to. The land stays, and so does everything bound to it.
Notes: Three categories of immovable property: by nature (terres, bâtimens), by destination (equipment attached to land), by object (rights like usufruct). Standard civil law taxonomy.
