Le débiteur qui a payé le cédant avant que le transport lui ait été signifié, est valablement libéré.

Life lesson: If the debtor pays the original creditor before being told about the assignment, that payment counts — the debtor is free.
Notes: Good-faith payment to assignor before notification: debtor validly discharged. Protects uninformed debtor.
