Chapitre IV: Des Obligations du Vendeur (On the Obligations of the Seller)

Si la vente n'est pas résiliée pour l'éviction d'une partie du fonds, la valeur de ce qui est évincé est remboursée à l'acquéreur, suivant l'estimation de ce qu'elle peut valoir au temps de l'éviction, sans avoir égard au prix total de la vente, soit que la chose vendue ait augmenté ou diminué de valeur.

Life lesson: If you keep the rest after partial eviction, you're compensated at current value — not at the original contract price.
Notes: Partial eviction without rescission: compensation at current value (time of eviction), independent of original price. Protects against market fluctuations.
