A person having sent last week a young Negro aged 15 years, on horseback, to Fort-Dauphin, to seek papers there at a Procurator's office, the said Negro departed Saturday morning the 2nd of this month, at five o'clock, from the Plantation of M. Sicard: at three o'clock in the afternoon he passed by Sr Judhomme, Innkeeper at the savannah of Limonade, and there is reason to believe that the said Negro is a maroon. He is of Congo nation, branded on the right breast IF and below GEUSSE; and the horse, reddish coat, branded on the mounting side of the thigh R, having the left hind foot white. The said Negro is carrying a package containing papers of consequence, wrapped in a cotton handkerchief with blue and red squares, marked in white thread I W, and addressed to Monsieur Vandewactere, at M. Brocas, Merchant at the Cape. Those who have any knowledge of the Negro, the horse, or the package, are requested to arrest him and give notice to M.
