Toussaint takes the Spanish camp at Pistau after a bloody fight
Haitian
PISTAU. Habitation in front of the Grande Rivière du Nord. On 2 January 1795, Toussaint Louverture discovered there a camp set up by the Spaniards of the Grande Rivière. He did not dare attack it for fear of being surrounded, his rear not being sufficiently protected. He took it the next day after a bloody fight.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PISTAU.
