Toussaint Louverture and Captain Laurent take a Spanish fort by bayonet

Haitian

The State owns five carreaux of land there, occupied by fermiers. There was a fort there, occupied in 1795 by the Spaniards; Toussaint Louverture and Captain Laurent took it at the point of the bayonet on 1 January.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAINT MALO.
