The port of Saltrou is provisionally opened to foreign trade
Haitian
The port, not open to foreign commerce, offers an anchorage to small boats without sheltering them from the south winds. However, at the time of the insurrection of Jacmel in 1883, a decree of the president of Haiti of 14 November provisionally opened the port to foreign commerce. The effect of this measure ceased with the peace.
Rouzier tells this under the entry SALTROU.
