The confederates gathered at the Diègue plantation, where Pétion was named captain of the gunners and Rigaud colonel.
Haitian
Rigaud, Boury, Bleck and Lambert had already arrived on the Diègue plantation. Pétion appeared at nine o’clock in the morning. It was his arrival that was awaited before proceeding to the distribution of the other ranks. Pétion, who, as we have seen, had loved the artillery arm from his childhood, asks to be employed in it; he is named captain of the gunners. Rigaud was proclaimed colonel, Bleck, major; Coustard, Roubiou, Aubran, Moriette, Baptiste Boyer, Doyon the elder, Lafontant, Ulysse, Larose, Tessier, Cambre, Valmé Cortades, captains of infantry; Marc Borno and Borno Déléar, captains of cavalry; Borgella, lieutenant in the same arm.
