Senate names Bruno Blanchet Secretary of State

Haitian

BLANCHET. Two brothers of this name distinguished themselves in the history of Haiti. The elder, Bruno Blanchet, was a member of the Constituent Assembly of 1806 and was rapporteur of the Constitution Committee. He was named Secretary of State by the Senate on 18 January 1807. His body rests in the cathedral of Santo Domingo. The younger, Jacques Antoine Dupin Blanchet, or Blanchet jeune, was a senator in 1807, adjutant general, and Brigadier General on 25 January 1807; he distinguished himself at the siege of Port au Prince in 1807. His body rests beneath the altar of the Patrie of Jérémie.

Rouzier tells this under the entry BLANCHARD.
