Secretary of State Imbert writes to stop unauthorized mahogany cutting
Haitian
Private individuals were cutting and selling on their own account, without authorization, mahogany timber that stood on State lands. The Secretary of State I. C. Imbert wrote to the justice of the peace, on 9 December 1825, to put a stop to this abuse.
Rouzier tells this under the entry SAN JOSE de las MATAS, ou las Matas de la Sierra.
