Royalist emigrés occupy Saint Michel and defeat Desfourneaux
Haitian
HISTORY. On 17 August 1793, the royalists, who had taken the designation of émigrés, occupied Saint Michel. Lieutenant Colonel Desfourneaux, commandant of the place of Port-au-Prince, went to attack them there with 2,000 men; but he was completely beaten, and fell back on Gonaives.
Rouzier tells this under the entry ST. MICHEL du NORD ou de l’ATALAYE.
