Roume wrote to Kerverseau of Rigaud’s flotilla and of the 60,000 piastres sent to Santiago de Cuba to buy a corvette of 18 guns, and sent Sasportas to the French agents of the Windward Islands, Desfourneaux among them, to ask for warships or privateers.
