Romain seizes a French post at Métayer and is dislodged
Haitian
In the night of 4 to 5 February 1803, the indigène General Romain seized from the French a post that they had established there. At daybreak, the French marched from the Cap against him and dislodged him. In withdrawing, the indigènes set fire to most of the neighboring habitations. Romain withdrew to Vaudreuil with his troops.
Rouzier tells this under the entry METAYER.
