Rigaud’s army retreats to Dufour
Haitian
On 5 May 1800 the remnants of Rigaud’s army, retreating on the South, established themselves at Dufour, while Pétion occupied the Pont. A complete discord reigned at Dufour among the colonels, which the presence of Rigaud, returned from the Cayes, could not end. Rigaud had no more than 1,000 men to set against the masses that Dessalines was about to hurl at him.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Dufour.
