Revolt at Poulayer put down by Lamartinière

Haitian

On 11 September 1802 a revolt broke out there against the French. Rochambeau sent against the rebels Colonel Lamartinière at the head of the 3rd Colonial. The latter dispersed them. Like all the senior officers of the colonial army, Lamartinière, the hero of the Crête-à-Pierrot, after the submission of Toussaint Louverture, served the cause of the French. It was while fighting for the French that he met his death at the Matheux (Arcahaie).

Rouzier tells this under the entry POULAYER.
