Prosper Elie transfers the mahogany security to Maunder
Haitian
The house of Prosper Elie had made considerable advances of funds to the Company, which had given it as security a quantity of 6 to 7 hundred thousand of mahogany wood. Mr Elie, for his part, received these advances from Joseph Maunder, of Liverpool; he died on 23 February 1867 [See Fort Lamarre], owing L. 22,758 to Maunder, to whom he had transferred, on 3 March 1866, the 6 or 7 hundred thousand feet of mahogany wood as security for that sum.
Rouzier tells this under the entry TORTUE (la).
