Port-de-Paix rises against the provisional government over Séïde’s death
Haitian
On 4 October 1888, at the instigation of the Cap-Haïtien, Port-de-Paix rose in insurrection against the provisional government, on the occasion of the death of General Seïde Thélémaque. In October Port-de-Paix fired on the Toussaint Louverture, a government ship, which replied and silenced the fire of the insurgents.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PORT-DE-PAIX.
