Piquet chief Saint-Mable shoots himself

Aubas. Crossroads and habitation in the plain of the Cayes. The famous chief of the Piquets, Saint-Mable, who had done so much harm to the Cacos of the Cayes, shot himself through the head on 9 January 1870 at the Aubas crossroads.
