Ouanaminthe took up arms against Antoine Simon for Cincinatus Leconte
Haitian
While General Anselme Prophète, minister of war of President Légitime, was advancing into the heart of the North and driving the Northerners back toward the Cap, the head of the insurrection, General Hyppolite, provisional president of the North, remained at Ouanaminthe and urged the population to defend the revolution. He stayed there from 23 January 1889 to 29 May. On 4 February 1911 Ouanaminthe took up arms against President Antoine Simon in favor of Cincinatus Leconte; the generals Mizael Codio, Chapuzette Michel and Mathieu Fils-Aimé were the leaders of the movement. On Saturday 11 February they were driven out of it by the Government troops while President Antoine Simon was at the Cap.
Rouzier tells this under the entry OUANAMINTHE.
