On 5 germinal Laveaux abandoned Le Cap for the Haut-du-Cap, and Villatte, fearing arrest, left Le Cap in the night of 5 to 6 germinal for his camp of La Martellière with Benjamin, Allers, Descoubet, Bienaimé Gérard, Massi, Jeannot, Chervin and Daumec, while Rodrigue and the 1st regiment swore obedience.
