Ojeda arrives at the brazilwood port of Yaquimo on 5 September

Haitian

While this was going on, news came to the Admiral that Alonso de Hojeda had arrived with certain ships at the port of Yaquimo, which is down the coast, 80 leagues from this port of Sancto Domingo, where there is or was brazilwood, and that he had arrived there on the 5th of September, and so the Admiral wrote to the Sovereigns in these letters. Of this arrival of Hojeda the history will treat in chapter 164 and the following. He also begged the Sovereigns that, because he was now very broken and was living the worst life of any man in the world, on which account he was declining, and his son don Diego Colon, who is at court, was growing in strength, becoming a man able to serve them here, they do him the favor of commanding that he come here to help him, so that he might rest somewhat and Their Highnesses be better served.
