Northern division enters Cotuy
Haitian
On 2 March 1805 the division of the North of the Haitian army, marching against Santo Domingo, after resting on the banks of the Yuna, entered Cotuy. The priest had gone out to meet Christophe to make his submission. Some soldiers who had given themselves over to excesses were severely punished. Christophe resumed his march on the 4th toward Santo Domingo. On their return from the siege of Santo Domingo, the Haitian troops of the North burned the village.
Rouzier tells this under the entry COTUY.
