Mangin d’Ouance disperses the Mercy camp
Haitian
In November 1791 the affranchis of the South blockaded the town by land and by sea, thus breaking the treaties they had made with the whites, whom they massacred in the countryside. They did not know how to observe any moderation in their conduct. The town was reduced to the most frightful famine. However, shortly afterward, on 18 February 1792, Mangin d’Ouance marched against the camp Mercy, which he dispersed.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Cayes (les).
