Magloire Ambroise poisons himself in prison
Haitian
Magloire Ambroise, commandant of the arrondissement, convicted of conspiracy against President Pétion, was arrested by Bonnet and David Troy and poisoned himself on 7 December 1807 in prison rather than let himself be tried. David Troy gave proof, at the time of his arrest, of exemplary bravery in the presence of some soldiers of his regiment. His accomplices Borno Deliard, Michel and the other officers of his staff succeeded in escaping pursuit.
Rouzier tells this under the entry JACMEL.
