Milot. The authorities of the North sign their act of adherence to the revolution

Two days after sending this letter to Madame Dessalines, Christophe adhered to the revolution that had taken place and called the Emperor a devouring Hydra. Colonel Pierre Toussaint, commandant of the town of Saint-Marc, and General Vernet had just forwarded to him the dispatches of Generals Gérin and Pétion. He felt a real joy at having been proclaimed the head of the government. He at once summoned the civil and military authorities of Le Cap and its surroundings to Milot and read to them the letters he had received and the paper entitled Resistance to Oppression.

The authorities of the North, acting under his influence, welcomed the revolution and drew up and signed the following act:
