The Cul-de-Sac plain. Its cultivators send a deputation to Pétion demanding the death of Dessalines and Germain Frère

At the same moment a deputation of the cultivators of the plain of the Cul-de-Sac entered Port-au-Prince and demanded of General Pétion the death of Dessalines and of Germain Frère. It announced that the cultivators would watch over the plain and would leave the Emperor wholly ignorant of the measures taken against him at Port-au-Prince. It withdrew loaded with congratulations. The troops remained posted in echelon along the high road, from the Saint-Joseph gate to the bridge.
