La Tourterelle. Place where Inginac was to be bayoneted

During the interview at the Quatre-Chemins, one of the battalion commanders of the 13th, Perou, came to Inginac’s house and ordered him to follow, so that he might put him in a place of safety. Inginac, dreading assassination, refused to obey him in spite of several summonses, and reproached him vigorously for having taken on a criminal errand. Perou declared that he had not come of his own accord, and showed him the following order, which had been handed to him at the office of the town command:

Order to Battalion Commander Perou to go to the lodging of the man named Inginac at the head of a detachment of grenadiers, to seize him, to lead him toward La Tourterelle, and to bayonet him.
